Lets Roll Challenge

Lets Roll Challenge

I have a challenge for those that wish to have a personal way to remember the victims of September 11th, 2001. I will attempt a ride of 20 miles Sunday. This will be my first attempt at 20 miles. For me the ride will be a tribute to the passengers and crew of flight 93. To face life’s challenges head own is the most noble way to live and die I know of.

I urge you all to pursue the ride that challenges your abilities, in Remembrance and to Honor those that have fallen.

9 miles
11 miles
20 miles
40 miles
93 miles

Not riding, but definitely not forgotten. We lost two close friends that were Flight Attendants. My wife is a 28 year veteran of the Not so Friendly Skies.

Aaron :)

The pain and suffering the families have felt are far more than what the OP would feel if he rode the 93 miles. I think the OP should do the 93.:thumb:

I am sincere in my post, are you? If I offend you by reaching out to the bicycling community during the anniversary of the tragic event my apologies. Allot of fine people died and the families will never have them back.

If I was capable of riding 93 miles you can bet your ass I would, as a former Marine I have never shucked a duty I am capable of doing.

I remember learning of the details of flight 93 while I was going threw physical therapy after the surgery on my ACL, meniscus disk and all that goes along with that. I remember thinking that rebuilding the leg after 6 weeks on crutches was such a small thing in comparison.

To know you are on a plane headed for your own death and destruction of a building. There is no help, no weapons, and little hope of survival even if you reclaim the plane. The men and women of flight 93, just as the Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters responding to the fires demonstrated the greatest unselfish acts of heroism. The sacrifice is inspirational.

I realize my 20 mile ride today is a small thing, but as the ride was completed my small thing for them has been completed. The ˝ mark from my house for the ride was at the local monument dedicated to victims and families of September 11th.
