Exactly, I was just venting. I realize how absurd it is to be protectionist of something that sees so much loving. Bikes are meant to be ridden, not to be objets d'art...it's just when the wear and tear is out of disrespect rather than a robust and healthy life that I get frustrated.

Understand. When I have been involved in incidences, my first concern is for the bike - road rash heels!

I just sprayed my bike flat black. Looks super ugly..but no more corrosion.
Good thing I don't look at it when I ride. All I care about is how well it runs.
Guy at the supermart rammed the carts into my frame, nasty ding. I was just happy in that it was a steel tube that got smacked...
What to do?..destroy a few shopping carts?
My next frame is going to be a 243Racing, black.
When a scratch happens, it's rattle can time. psssss....
Ever watched your bike flipping over and over downhill? Forget the busted components -...it's tube inspection time.
Maybe I could electroplate the frame with nickel? That would be hard to scratch.
Today, I dislike bikes...wheels in particular.
Actually I hate EVERYTHING today.
I need a big Lithium milkshake before I go to work.

Given that this country is based on the idea that the pursuit of happiness, I think it's wrong to have a rule against kicking soccer balls in the hall. However, since those clowns obviously have no skill, they personally should keep their hacking outside.
As for the coffee shop incident, there's not much you can do. Inconsiderate people are everywhere. Avoid them when you can, try to stay calm when you can't, and only box their ears if they're smart enough to learn from it.
