1. Has anyone tried the new Cane Creek 3G 2005 ThudBuster LT. If so can you review it?

So it moves backwards instead of down to absorb shock? I think the rocking chair motion would freak me out.

I had a 2G for a while. I loved it except for the seat angle adjustment. I've always hated the old single screw type adjustment. I sold it on ebay and bought a 3G as soon as they came out. Now I love everything about it. You can change elastomers to adjust for weight and can adjust preload by compressing the elastomers. It works really well on expansion joints, etc. which is what I want it to do.

I got a reply from the inventor of the Thudbuster.

Here is what he says....

Thanks for the interest in the Thudbuster. The 3G Thudbuster is pretty much new from top to bottom. The saddle clamp is a completely new design. The arms are a new two-piece design with outboard bushings riding on a press fit pin... (opposite of 2G design). This strengthens the seatpost laterally and reduces any side-to-side movement. The elastomers are the same. The tube and receptor are now a one-piece forged unit as opposed to the old style that was glued together.

If you can swing the extra money, the 3G is a MAJOR upgrade.
