Mounting a taillight question

Hi Folks,

I have a Blackburn Flea taillight which I like to mount to my seat post, however, my seat post is not the typical round ones and is narrow as seen on the Cervelo S2. Currently, it's just dangling and I would like it to be secured. How are you folks mounting your taillights?

Thanks for your ideas. One other thing I don't use a supply bag for the seat.

I like to mount them on a seat stay.

I've found that using a little ingenuity helps.

I put mine on the back of the rear plastic helmet strap. I also now buy lights that fasten to the seat stay so they are always on the bike.

Maybe Blackburn has a solution. Other thing is to go to Cervelo web site and ask the Community Forums.

You could mount it on the seat stay also.

Another option, perhaps use zip ties with an old inner tube to prevent marring and maybe prevent slipping if necessary. Black ones will be best for this application since they will be most resistant to UV.

I'd contact a Cervelo dealer for the stock Cervelo CPSC-required reflector bracket that fits their aero post. They probably have a bin of them. Flip the swivel tab horizontal, then mount the Flea to it.

You may need a different product, Knog, for example.. uses silicon rubber
and uses it to encase the lights mechanism, and stretch around stuff..

I'm sure you can find a Bike Shop in the SF bay area to help your situation out.
probably where you live,
or maybe Palo Alto, Los Gatos , San Jose Etc.

What are you messing with a such a tiny dinky a$$ed light for anyway?

I don't like the seat stay. The reason? Can't be seen well to the other side of the bike. Mine is on the back of my bag. Maybe use a bag? Back of helmet? As high as possible. Think: third brake light on a car
