Probably a dumb question about labels.
How they heck do I remove the warning labels from my bike without damaging the paint? I've tried to peel them off but they're really on there good. Don't want to come off easily. Didn't want to use a solvent because I figured it would ruin the paint underneath.

Using a hair drier can help sometimes, lift one corner and peel verrrrry slowly diagonally.
|
Call the manufacturer and ask them, if the hair dryer trick doesn't work...

Wd-40

Goof off, no wories about paint removal.

I dabbed alcohol and nail polish remover onto the label. It somewhat gives. Peel very carefully. The final residue is hard to remove with alcohol but WD40 works great at this point.
It's a slow process.:p I wax the frame after. ;) |
How will you know to Be Careful! if there are no Warning! stickers? :twitchy:

Hair drier softens the adhesive and makes the labels much easier to peel. With luck the adhesive comes off with the label. If not, WD40, vegetable oil, etc.. will remove any remaining adhesive.

Many times the decal is under the clear coat.

+1 If it's under clearcoat the hair dryer method won't be so effective. |

Got any other names that do put he warning label under the clearcoat? |
Goo Gone. Dab it on and saturate the label. Let it soak, come back later and the adhesive will be mushy. It may take a couple of applications but it'll get all of the sticky residue off like it was never there.
edit: I almost forgot, make sure to let it soak for awhile. This was my mistake when I first started using it. If you try and rub the sticker off too soon nothing really happens. If you let it soak in and do it's thing it's good stuff. |
