Whats bike-related item did you buy for yourself on Black Friday

I bought the Arkel Bug. It was marked down a little over $20 and free shipping. I already have the Switchback but plan to use the Bug for summer travels. Had to resist getting the 2012 version of the switchback though.

I got a bunch of small stuff to get free shipping. Some spare commuter shoes, second set of leg warmers (I wear them almost daily so figured a second set would be useful), new tire levers (snapped one recently), spare saddle pack, fenders for my 26" MTB, etc...

Nothing. Just because the stores call it Black Friday and practically declare a national holiday doesn't mean I need to subject myself to that madness.

Picked up a Topeak rear rack. It's nice to have a little bit of storage area when needed.

I didn't go because it was Black Friday, but since I had the free time, I bought a pin spanner at one LBS and ordered a set of 26" Panaracer Paselas from another.

I bought a 14lb USDA Prime rib eye roast to power my bike; however, it was not a Black Friday special.

Wow, 14 lbs! :O Thats the nearly twice the weight of an average baby. Im impressed.

Sounds like the best deal was that 45% off one.

I should note I bought the Arkel online and not on Black Friday. Maybe I should have titled the post ". . .did you buy yourself for Christmas?"

Of course, I would have to add "even if you dont observe Christmas, you just wanted to take advantage of the holiday specials."

Got a new Ultegra 6700 BB for 20% off and a basic bike tool kit to do a crank/bb swap. Also 20% off.

I'm still in the market for a cool weather/rain type cycling jacket.

Perhaps you'd be slightly less broke if you waited till black Fri to buy the stuff you had bought before.

I didn't leave the house friday, I was curled up and passed out on the couch with flu.

But I did manage to snipe an auction for something I've wanted for months, a used 2005 marzocchi bomber 66 180mm 20mm t/a front fork for my mtb for $165 shipped! Most others I've been outbid on in the past went for >$350.

sunday I managed to order a set of easton havoc all-mountain wheels from pricepoint for $220.

Helluva upgrade, I'm debating with myself to keep my old stuff as spares or not. I think reselling my old stuff would more than pay for the upgrade (2004 marzocchi bomber z1 drop off ii 145mm freeride fork, with sun rhyno lite wheels on shimano deore xt hubs standard qr fr/rr).

Should be nice to finally have the front fork match the 7" of travel on the rear of my bike, bottomed out that fork too many times on big drops.

I bought a spare tube (26 x 1.6 Kenda) from my LBS on Wednesday, but that's as close as I got.

Oh I completely forgot (mostly because they haven't come in yet, just were ordered, at 15% off at the LBS):

Shimano M540 pedals:

And Shimano M42 shoes, size 49:

My very first clipless pedals/shoes! Though if the weather deteriorates before they arrive, I may perhaps have to wait until March/April to use them.

Whole cuts of meat are generally less expensive than buying pieces of it. The difference, in my case, would have been $4/lb more if I bought rib eye steaks instead of the entire cut.
