Best U-Lock to buy?

I've been looking at U-Locks to buy. Out of these, which is the better one? Or, which lock do you use instead?

I'm afraid that the mini will be too small to lock my frame to posts around town. Oh, and what are some tips for making them last longer? Some reviews talk about the keys jamming and whatnot. Will putting WD-40 in the mech every month fix that? Enlighten me.

The Kryptonite, it's smaller so thieves can't use a jack to open it.

Should I use Sheldon Brown's locking method to make more room for the lock? Because I'm afraid that if I go through the rim + a seatstay/chainstay, there won't be enough room to go to the pole.

Forgetting the fact that I don't leave my bike overnight anywhere, I don't really live in a high-crime area. I've been using a crappy combo cable lock for years and I've been fine, but I just want a bit of extra security.

If you live in a low crime area, I think any Ulock should be fine if you use the sheldon brown method. Pretty much any lock can be cut with a potable angle grinder, they just are tougher to cut than normal cable locks. Make sure you get a cable to tie the front wheel to the lock.

EDIT: It is pretty hard to fit a U lock around the pole with a U lock. I got this one and it is perfect I can get it around a pole+the rim with no problem: http://www.amazon.com/Kryptonite-Kry...9886791&sr=8-3

And what bike do you have? Is it very flashy?

And if you just put the lock through the rear rim the bike cannot be stolen unless the u lock is cut.

I like the Evolution standard instead of the mini because it has a 2 bolt locking mechanism while the minis only have one bolt. This means two cuts are required to defeat this lock.

I normally lock through the rim and both seat stays. The lock goes where V-brakes would be if I had them. My bike has 700x42 tires though, so they are pretty big as far as street tires go.

I don't have any quick releases, so I should be fine without a cable in most circumstances :) My bike is a pretty nonflashy singlespeed from BD. I like the lock you posted, fishymamba.

Thanks everyone :)
