Advice on buying a bike carrier
I've just started shopping for a hitch mounted 2-bike carrier. My local bike shop showed me a Yakima with the retail price of $199 and a Thule that retails for around $350. A quick Google search shows me I can buy the same Yakima carrier for $179 with free shipping from etrailer.com. Before I pull the trigger, I wonder if anyone could suggest other sites and other brands I might consider.

My Yakima works great, but it is heaaaavy. Yes, heavy means durable, and that's why I bought it.
If you're planning to use the carrier a lot or for long trips, the Yakima is hard to beat. If usage will be infrequent, you might find a lighter built one for less money.
