Bike Poem

Just a stupid poem I wrote for English class about 15 minutes before it was due. Hey, someone's got to bring some culture around here. It's based off of Robert Burns' "A Red, Red Rose". I gave it a cyclist geared twist

An Old, Steel Bike

O, my love is like an old, steel bike,
Thatís newly polished and tuned.
O, my love is like the Chicago Schwinn trike,
With bottom bracket freshly lubed.

As fair art thou, my iron steed,
So deep in love am I.
And I will love thee still, my dear,
Till rust consumes the frame of thine.

Till rust consumes your frame, my dear,
And the grease congeals on your chain!
And I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sidewalls of your tires rot in the rain.

And fare thee well, my only love,
And fare thee well awhile!
And I will come again, my love
Though to some you are but a junk pile.

You're right - it's a stupid poem.
