I don't think CM is good for cycling. In addition, if I had the time I'd be attending an Inauguration party instead of protesting one.
So, have fun with the usual psychodrama on wheels.

I worked in DC for quite a while, saw a few presidential
parades and like it or not, the secret service does not play
games, nor will the capitol police or DC police on that particular
day.
The whole premise of CM has been lost in the party atmosphere
and the outlandish behaviour of its participants, it draws attention
to itself and not the real issues.

Unless, of course, you will be taking the whole week off, given that you have Monday off, too, and thus will be on the beaches of Key West...

Though the beaches do sound nice, especially 'brokens' Maui suggestion.
You can get more work done at home!! i could never do it. I would be tempted to do everything but work. Fiddle with my bikes, eat food, music, food, read, food...can't do it.

Sounds like it'll be a long and interesting commute that day. Thanks for the heads-up.

Look, I'd love to see as many turn out in protest of the coronation as possible. But I don't think that CM is going to be let anywhere near where the action is.
Having said that: the cash strapped, primarily Democrat local govt. in DC has been asked to foot the bill for all the extra security. People there should complain to their representatives in congress - oops, they don't have any! Maybe a lot of city workers will get sick, who knows?
Also in the news: Participants in the festivities will not be allowed to go to the bathroom except when escorted by security goons. Marchers past the reviewing stand have been told not to look directly at our exalted leader and to refrain from sudden motions....
There is a movement afoot to have people turn their backs to chimpee as he passes....

So what would you be protesting? Democracy in America? GWB, whether you like it or not, won the election and the inauguration is a celebration of democracy in America. I won't be protesting Barbara Boxer being reelected. I had my protest at the ballot box. You don't get your way all the time, learn to live with it graciously, it will serve you in the long run.
