Help!
Hi, I’m new to the bike world, I’m looking at the Indie 2 bike from Norco. I like the tires that come with the bike, but I will be riding mostly gravel trails after commuting home on the road every day. I think I need slightly wider tires with a little more aggressive tread pattern than the ones it comes with - which are 700 x 37c. Can I put 700 x 42c tires on those same rims?

What did the bike shop say? Maybe an email directly to the manufacturer would bring you results too. Good luck.

Generally, you can do this without a problem.

I wouldn't worry about the rims.
I would worry about frame clearances. See how much room you have between the chainstays and under the fork crown. Sometimes the front derailleur will rub a fat tire when it's in the granny gear position. |
37s are more than adequate for gravel roads.

The tires the OP is asking about might be good for fine sand. Riding aggressive tread on pavement is just begging for crashing in a turn. |
