LBS guy full of BS
While in the LBS today waiting for my bike being tuned-up, I was chatting with the LBS guys I've known and ridden with for a long time. One of the fairly new guys there, notorious for talking alot, got talking with me about running. He was telling me about back in the day when he used to run/race. The times he was telling me were what Pro-International racers would run (2:20 marathon, 30 minute 10km etc). The guy was so full of BS it was annoying me, and all the other LBS guys were making fun of him without him realizing it. It was sad. I think they're letting him go soon.
Please LBS guy, save your BS stories for the skanks you meet in bars. |
So that guy puts the 'BS' back in 'LBS'?
:D I've known a lot of people like that, seems most of my friends are included. |
Well if you're gonna tell a fish story, make it somewhat believable.

nah, back in the days when i did IronMans, it was soo much harder. its a 6 mile swim in the ocean, and then a 200 mile bike ride on some slopes with up to 32% on the last 10 miles, and then we went and ran 30 miles. plus the completetion time wasnt 17 hours, it was just 13 hours. its soo much easier now

That's way too slow. I turned 50 last year and I did my first ever marathon in 1hr 45 mins; swim 36 miles in 3 hrs 14 mins; sprint 8.3 secs for the 100 meters; lift 325Kg bench press; 'service' 25 women per day. But nobody believes me. Maybe I need to find a LBS.

Hmmm... I guess they've cut out the T7 transition from the HALO insertion with the bike to the final rapall down the cliff side?
|
You should have told him about your three years on US Postal. He never heard of you because you didn't make the TdF team.

Rowan, maybe the seppo's don't get it (well, duh! as any 13 yo would say).
But since we are bragging on ourselves. I swapped the pathetic 170mm cranks for massive 195s, push a 55 x 10 gear and can outsprint Cipo. I'm also faster than that posinger lance whats'hisname. Marty |
everyone has a role to play in this life. the part of overbearing, clueless guy is being played by Mr X today.

Hear! Hear! |
i'm reminded of that sienfled where the tennis pro-shop owner boasts about how good he is and Jerry buys a racket based on his reccomendation. only to find later that the guy absolutley stinks at tennis.

If the earth was flat, was it all sloped downhill? :D Koffee |

I was merely sharing an LBS experience with others. If you don't like my statement or opinion, that's your problem, not mine. It's like television...if you don't like what's on, change the channel. |
How do you know he wasn't telling the truth or is this one of those of those instances of "it takes one to know one"?

How'd he get a job there if he doesn't think that the most common double configuration is even possible?
