Would you buy clothes you thought were ugly, but...

...you loved the function and price?

Performance has my favorite bibs -- Descente Pros -- on sale. The kicker is it's the Health something logo'ed up version. I very much dislike the look. But at nearly half-price, I'm thinking I should buy 'em.

WWYD?

Yeah....

I have a bunch of vintage jerseys that are ugly as crap, but were cheap on eBay.

Hell yea. If I found a pink jersey with David Hasselhoff's portrait on it for 99 cents, I'd get it. If it works, it works.

I might buy it, but not ride in public in it

I'm somewhat picky for what clothes I buy... If I don't like it, I'll pay a bit more and find one I do like.

that depends. if it“s really ugly, i mean really really ugly, and there“s no chance whatsoever at all to wear something else on top of it then i would rather pay more to get something else. that“s why i usually wear normal shorts on top of cycling shorts.

Hehe. I just don't care what other people think of my clothes. A lot of people are so worried about what other people think of them. Why? I just don't get it.

Okay...just took a look at those bibs. Not a problem for me either. They really look pretty classic anyway.

Verdict: Go for it like a big dog!

mmm lets see we are already wearing body hugging lycra and some of us (namely me, but I am sure others as well) do not have the best boady for wearing body hugging lycra. Can the color or design really make it any worse???

If it is comfortable and you like the brand, buy it. Looks do not matter.

I'm with Dxchulo, I buy oldschool vintage cycling gear on ebay, but I happen to think the old 70's look was pretty cool. I think a lot of the new stuff is ugly & overpriced & I'd rather sport the vintage stuff.

An old guy in spinning class wears his old bike shoes out of the 70's.
I'm the only other person who ever noticed them he said.

That's pretty cool. Do spin bikes have pedals that will work with old slotted cleats?

No, they have pretty high quality cinching straps though. The pricier spin bikes have recessed spd pedals.

That ugly jersey will slow you down ... it's a proven scientific fact using data generated by a now defunct Slovakian cycling performance institute. ... something about the combination of neon green, puke orange, and crap brown that increases turbulence ...

... either that or I heard it from my brother's best friend's sister's cousin, who knows a guy with a dog that saw it on line.

I've been getting by with a small press photo of David taped face up on my saddle.
He has an album out too, it really rocks!
