What's the name of your bike?

Admittedly, I haven't named my bike. But..... I was wondering what have folks named their bikes and why they chose a particular name.

Trek 820. I never thought of giving it an actual name.

You should ask this on the women's forum. The only folks I've known who admitted to naming a bike were women.

Shadowfax after Gandolf the Grey's steed and the Lord of all horses of Tolkien's Middle Earth.

Actually because it's silver and black and has a big red "S" on the front that reminded me of another bike named Shadowfax. Fourty plus years ago I worked part time for the Univerisity of Washington as a student projectionist ie. AV guy. The AV department had a old black Schwinn 3 speed with metal baskets front and back that we could use around campus when needed. When they first got it one of the students saw the big white S on the front and promptly christened it Shadowfax and the name stuck. It was even listed in the inventory by that name.

I call my bikes by their brands, I don't have any repeat brands. There are too many bikes to name otherwise.

Beyonce. A friend came up with it as a play on the brand and it stuck. My go-to bike:

The Mule. My ugly mutant fixed-gear drop-bar mountain bike that is set up for all weather and hauling things:

I think if I were eight years old I might name my bike.

I also do not have a name for my car or my refrigerator.

In this picture you see, front to back: The Gotham, The Bacchetta, and The Alegro. Of course, I also named my cat "White Cat." Yes, White Cat is white.

All my vehicles are named Sally, in honour of Gerald Durrell's donkey Sally. Of course, that gets a bit confusing, so I usually refer to them as: lets take the car or I'm taking the bike.

I has a yellow dahon classic a couple years ago and a bike naming thread prompted me to name her Daisy. Her bigger, but younger, brother(06 Dahon Boardwalk) got named Donald.

Decided to call my bike Bertha. She's got big tires, a big frame and a big rack. Seems like a good sturdy name.
