{builder** Harold "CORKY" Gulbransen R.I.P.

I just wanted to inform the cycling community that Corky passed away on Jan.1 2013.
From reading some of the threads here it's obvious that he was respected and admired for the cycles He built.
I had the privilege of knowing Corky not as a bike builder but as a carpenter. I belong to the same union local that he was in , where he was also highly respected for his skills and knowledge . When working with Corky he was "old school" , whether it was installing drywall or intricate molding , only perfect was good enough . Upon his retirement He mastered the art of wood carving , winning many ribbons and awards for the ducks & birds He could bring to life out of a block of wood . They look so realistic you would swear they would take flight any moment .
Cyclist , bike builder , sailor , boat builder , carpenter , carver , craftsman extraordinaire .
