Townies, Crusers, Crankforward types?
Where in BF would post be found on these types of bikes. They are used for recreational purps but also for touring, shopping, commuting, city riding, etc. should they have their own thread or be linked with Hybrids or possibly Utility?

The best this type of bike can manage here on the forums is a sticky. :(:(:(
The sticky is here......... http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ser-quot-forum |
I would say recreation forum is best. since a crank forward design certainly doesnt lend itself to long distance riding, nor does it allow particularly good power output; thus touring and utility are both out.

I think they are totally fine for utility bikes... yes the amount of power you can get to the pedals may be somewhat limited, but the advantage of most bikes used for cargo or utility is gears. Give me a lever long enough and I shall move the earth.

Being half way to a recumbent, a seat back would offer something to push against .
design wise the seat post on Rans is laid back and too subject to Bending under 200+# riders.. vs one that is steeper, just does not meet the BB shell .. directly .. |
