Want to find this!

Back in 1994, I had a Trek 2300 carbon, dark grey paint, with the CARBON decal on the top tube, not the "Composite" decal. I had full Shimano 600's (STI), and a set of Spinergy Rev-X clincher wheels, and a set of Profile AirStryke aero bars.

I was 14 at the time, and my parents splurged on me to get a nice bike since I was really starting to train. When I started working at the local bike shop, it got stolen on a Sunday while it was on the showroom floor as a "high end display" when I would ride it in to work.

20 years later, I would LOVE to build another one of them up. I currently have a 1996 Trek 5500 with all the old Shimano 600 stuff, in an apparently rare Ice Fire color. I will gladly strip this bike down to rebuild the 2300 I had when I really was putting in the miles. I actually used to get a shower from my rides and wipe the whole bike down with lemon Pledge to keep her clean and waxed. Riding never was as much fun after it got stolen, and it really took the wind out of my riding sails as a 15/16 year old. Unfortunately, they (the 2300 and the current 5500) were/are 62 cm frames, which is way too big for me. I am looking for a 56, or at most a 58 cm frame to actually be more my size. If ANYONE can offer any knowledge on where to get a 2300 frame in the dark grey, I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Mine, when I got it, before I even took the reflectors off!

You need to constantly search craigslist and ebay
