What distance and purpose was your last bike ride?

Also, would you classify your home as being in a city, suburb or rural area?

2.9 miles; doctor's office to home; city.

town.

around 27 mile joyride in 20 mph head wind during the first half, and 20 mph tail wind the second half. sadly, the first half was not very joyful, but lasted quite a while. On the other hand second half was incredibly joyful, but didn't last very long.

My last ride before it got to cold was 110 miles, I had no purpose other then just exercise, fun, and one last outdoor hurrah before bad weather set in.

Got in 23 miles last Saturday before the snow on Sunday. Just for fun - a club ride starting and ending in downtown Indy. Much of the ride was on MUPs, urban trails, bike lanes, etc.

27 miles on Monday, just commuting but I took a longer route home. 4 miles were in Salem to the bus station, all of the rest was on rural back roads, with several miles of gravel.

I rode a bit over 16 miles Sunday morning, first time out in a few months. Just a fairly slow ride through the country, enjoying the, ahem, spring weather. It was in the forties, but felt fine one I got going. I live out in the boonies, no big cities within 50 miles.

4 miles, city -- just the daily commute, nothing special. Lot of trucks out today, though.

13.8 miles. Went for a short climbing ride because it was too cold to ride very far and the wind was howling.

37 miles just for fun. Although the last 15 miles into a relentless headwind with snow flurries weren't as much fun as the first 10 miles or so with a nice tailwind on a silky smooth road.

11.5 miles- rural. Didn't have time for a "real ride"- just wanted to take advantage of a day when the temp was above 50 and the wind wasn't blowing too bad.

33 km last Sunday ... just a short, casual ride in between packing and moving. It was all we had time for just then. It was a beautiful day ... sunny, warm, some wind.

28km commute to work and back. A bit short so I'll add some spinning before I sleep to get it to around 70km for the day.

3.25 miles, round trip to the grocery store.

Former country setting becoming a suburban hell. They have built past several farms/forested areas and put in subdivisions, but have not upgraded the roads. Car counts have gone from ~1200 a day in 2000 to over 6,000 a day in 2011. About to stop riding because the roads aren't fit to ride on anymore.

Training for a tour. 55 mile ride elongated to 65 by a bridge closing at 40 mile mark.

Exloring...

~13 miles (not sure, no odometer) of exploring on my MTB. Sort of like Lewis and Clark looking for the northwest passage, I was trying to link nearby hiking trails along the Potomac into a ride-able singletrack with lots of ups and downs.

It was a quagmire of fallen trees, loose rocks and extremely steep and short climbs that proved to be a lot of work. The descents were crazy fun, though.

1.2 miles to the grocery and back for thick cut pork chops & a six pack of Shiner Bock.

Just over 11 miles. I was trying out my new bike (a full suspension foldable recumbent). It rides very similarly to my other recumbent with 26" wheels.

I rode 63 miles on Sunday on mostly rural, country roads. Most of my rides are just for fun and fitness, but I am currently trying to get my mileage up for a 200 mile (100 on Saturday and 100 on Sunday) ride I am doing on May.
