Considering this bike....advice appreciated!

Hi,

I'm a newbie, so forgive me if this is the wrong forum to post this.

I've been mountain biking for years, want to switch to road. Don't have a huge budget, so looking for quality on a shoestring. I plan on riding up 50 miles a week, or possibly more. Would like to keep price to around $600 max.

Saw this on craigslist.

Giant OCR 3 Men's Road Bike

Seems like a good deal, of course the bikes at REI all seem nice (and new).

Any thoughts?

It's an entry level aluminum road bike, it will get you going, its primary downsides are that it will be relatively heavy as far as road bikes go (though lighter than your mountain bikes), and it has 8-speed drivetrain, which is pretty archaic these days. But you need to make sure that it is the right size for you.

If it's really OCR 3 and not a typo (for example, Giant also made OCR C3, which is a totally different beast), it was retailing for $700ish when new (possibly lower with clearance discounts, etc.) and it should be 5 or so years old, so it should be priced accordingly.
