Anyone know any good bike shops in Helsinki or Stockholm?
I'm looking for a steel touring/commuter frame, new or used, for less than 400 euro. My wife is willing to make a family holiday out of this hunt, (I think she's sick of hearing me talk about it) so we can either take the ferry from Riga to Stockholm, or drive to Tallinn and take the ferry from there. Sober .
Does anyone know any good bike shops in Helsinki or Stockholm that sell steel touring or hybrid frames?
P.S. No, no one here in Riga sells steel touring frames, I've looked in every shop in town.

Is Latvia in the EU yet? Otherwise won't you end up paying exhorbitant VAT (I think denmark is 25%) and then import taxes?

Yes, Latvia is a member of the EU (since last May 1, IIRC). VAT in Sweden is 25% as well .

In Helsinki you could try a couple of bike shops that are fairly centrally located and close to each other: Fillarikellari and Suomen Urheiluaitta. Fillarikellari is at Annankatu 19 in downtown Helsinki, Urheiluaitta is right across the street. PM me if you need directions.
Neither of these is in any way touring specific but they have more variety than your average sporting goods store and will also sell just frames. In my not so humble opinion, the best bike shops in general Helsinki area are located pretty far from the city center.
