My 18.7 mile ride.

I had a great ride!

I rode from Middlebrook pike, down cedar bluff, up N Peters/Parkside, onto lovell, then down the farragut greenway to Grisby Chapel, then back up Grisby Chapel and up Turkey Creek to the shopping Center when I got a ride home. Trip info: 2h 17m 21s, Mx 27.0mph, Av 8.1mph, and Dst 18.66miles.

The directions might be useless unless you know this area, but I put it in my photo gallery too! You can go to it here...you don't have to sign up or anything.

Nice pix. Looks like a nice place to ride. I like the one of the shopping center with the lights on. That's a Vette?

So...you are building yourself a road bike? You have a frame already?

It is a great place to ride... I ran into 2 roadies decked out in jerseys, and a few kids on their bikes along with many walkers/runners. That shopping center is the new highlight of West Knoxville....it's right @ the border of Knoxville and Farragut(rich city bordering Knoxville) So it's a nice place and still has alot of construction going on. That is the BRAND new Vette...it's sweet, parked right next to a Cobra. My frame is finally painted, but my fork doesn't hit the paint booth til Friday since I'm having all of it custom painted and just decided I wanted the fork the same color. The frame is probably 3 weeks away from being here...maybe 4. Figuring packaging and shipping...etc.

haha...I don't know if it'd be a road bike...it's a cyclocross frame w/ MTB hubs to road wheels with like 40C tires, Drop bars with 105 stuff, and avid BB Road brakes...so it's more less a Uber beefy road bike...or a road oriented mountain bike...depends how you look at it.

I never read anything about the frame, what is it? What kind of paint job? I think I ran across the parts list thread only.

A brand new Vette next to a Cobra, wow. One day I was on a century by myself in the middle of no where and I stumbled on a meeting of an A.C. cobra club. Some nice replicas, but one real oldie with a 428ci shotgun motor.(Daytona track motor)...whew!
The blue one is a kit..the red one and the grey one are the real thing.

It's a soul cycles monk. I am having it powder coated a translucent red that's so glossy you can see yourself in it. https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...712#post902712 The paint looks odd coming from the shots...but I've seen the paint before and it's slick.

I lived out by the Dead Horse golf course back in the mid 90's. I can't imagine biking on any of those roads, and living to tell about it. No shoulders, high traffic, twisting roads will poor visability. Whew. Maybe they have improved them since we lived there. The only good ride I found in Kville was the Pellissipi Parkway out to Oak Ridge.

Ride on!

The roads are hardly friendly, but on the greenway there are no cars...it bring me to such a good mood I just wanna stay back there all day.

my inlaws live in jefferson city and i have driven through knoxville more times than i care to count....having lived in LA, chicago and a bunch of southeast cities knoxville has some of the worst congestion around (ie kingston pike and i-40 near west town)

i remember when turkey creek was just wide open land

at least they have a chik-fil-a
