Difference between saddles
I was just looking for a saddle to replace the awful one that came with my bike, it's one of those "comfort" saddle, sorry there isn't much comfort there for me. I was just wondering if there is any real difference between a road bike saddle and a MTB saddle.

What you need is a saddle to match your butt. Road or Mountain, which ever has the best fit.
Brooks ain't all that.
I tried one for 400 miles. Yuk on it.

1. Check out the saddles of everybody you see who rides bikes. The more they ride, the less likely you'll find a real wide or a heavily padded saddle.
2. Saddle adjustment makes a LOT of difference. Don't be afraid to fiddle around with yours. Up and down, front to back and especially tilt are all factors. I've even heard folks who say they like their saddle a little off line with the rest of the bike.
3. Keeping those two factors in mind, everybody has their favorite brand. If I was still riding DF bikes, I'd be riding on a Brooks but even Brooks aren't for everybody.
