Road rash healing. Been using bag balm with good results, any similar experiences?

Road rash healing. Been using bag balm with good results, any similar experiences?
After a nasty crack up a few 2 1/2 weeks ago that road rashed my right side (knee, thigh, arm, shoulder) I started with neosporin and then switched to Bag Balm to help clear up the road rash. My right knee cap was particularly bad as round flexing areas don't heal particularly well with large wound areas. I wore shorts mostly but when wearing pants, I would bandage the area to keep clothing abrasion away. Pretty pleased with using the Bag Balm...any similar experiences with BB or similar products?

I've heard it through the grapevine that many people have used and highly recommend Tegaderm for road-rash-type abrasion wounds. Not the same as an ointment but apparently protects the wound while allowing it to breathe and heal.
I personally don't like ointments for more than a short time (like a day) because I had a bad experience with neosporin suffocating a wound which ironically made it fester..

Tegaderm works well and it's pretty interesting to observe the wound as it heals.

My wife has been treating at a wound clinic (not bike related) and they gave her some Medihoney. Miracle stuff. OTC. I got some just to have around the house just in case.

<-- That shiny dome is a picture of my hair, or lack thereof, and Bag Balm did not help. Probably feels good on a mildly sunburned scalp, though.

One can purchase anhydrous lanolin on eBay pretty cheap. It does pretty much the same thing (keeps your skin soft) but it is a natural wax, not an oil.
