For the Aussies

Anyone recognize the jolly man in my new avatar?

Bike related content... riding through Australia was great, and knowing that the jolly man in my avatar was right around the corner in many of the towns we stayed it made the bad days a lot better.

It was great, we were on a school trip so we could use code for the liquor store. "Hey have you met the Innkeeper?" Or "I shook the Innkeeper's hand last night" etc... By the end of the trip, we were all pretty good friends with him

He does look suspiciously like the Pringles guy. We just thought it was funny that they would use a lovable cartoon character for a liquor store. However, the adult store called "Good Vibrations" and the restaurant called "****et Thai" were pretty darn funny too!

I was surprised to see XXXX over the doorway of so many shops in QLD, and nothing to read inside. That's my joke. Few will get it, most won't.

Mate, the missus says next move is to the US, to a state that gets snow 5 months out of the year. NSW is too humid for me. QLD was nice, even in October. But I had just come from snow in NZ, so maybe this seppo didn't know better. Also, once I figured out the whole XXXX it was all good. Drive through!

I didn't realise there were so many Aussies outside of The Aussie Thread. How come you guys don't contribute to their online hooliganism?

The only reason they have Four Xs is that the company executives couldn't spell "four". Indeed, I'm grateful for the spell checker

In my case, time constraints.

You don't whack 'em over the fence into NSW? I never saw the commercial, but I wish I did. The only parts of QLD I've seen around around that Japanese city. What's it called? Cairns? Yeah, that's it. I stayed at Half Moon Bay, in Yorkey's Knob. Nice place. Did the whole tourist thing: reef, outback, rainforest, croc farm, pub crawl, night zoo, etc. If I hadn't met a great Newcastle girl, I could have stayed up there.
