Good question. You are unlikely to bend the rails to the point they stay bent, but you might flex them and the saddle base enough to get one of the rail ends to pop out of the base.

well I don't bounce on my saddle, I lift up when I expect a bump...so you think it'd be worth giving a shot or should I just avoid it for now

Stick with the good 'ol steel or cromo rails.

for the carbon rails the limit is 200 lbs. Go for the ti, if it is going to bend, it will, but it usually will bend farter and back than steel or cromoly. Carbon is the one that has catastrophic failures.

Ti rails should work for you TRD, make sure you buy them from someone who will take the saddle back if it dosen't work out. I buy as much stuff as possible from REI because they will take anything back, any time, no questions asked. Ti is hard and strong, my guess is it will be fine.

Hi,
I tried a couple Ti rail saddles. I bottomed out. The rails bend and your butt whacks the seatpost. Gets old pretty quick. If you want
a suspension effect get a sprung Brooks

Every TI railed saddle I've seen has always expressed at weight limit, usually 170-190 lbs. Hushky saddles for the Husky pants crowd.

i am just testing out a fizik Ti saddle with an easton EC90 seatpost. my buddies say that they can see me bouncing. now, my cadence seems correct and smooth, and my back is golden after long rides, but i need more miles on it to exude complete confidence in it (i am 182lbs)

Interesting.
I've a Ti railed saddle (Something or other from flight) on the Eston 90 seat post. The saddle keeps slipping back so I shimmed it with thin brass shim and it slips back less but still moves. I've never had that problem before wonder what it is the Saddle or the post. Befor it slips back it's pretty comfy but more flexi than the saddles/posts I've used before.
PS I am way light compared to you guys. 84-7Kg or 185-190lb.

I have a ti railed fizik alliante, and FSA satellite. Neither bottom under my 260+lbs. The satellite has been on several bikes, from my cannondale & litespeed road bikes to my cannondale & FOES mountain bikes in the last 4 years and is still on the FOES fxr. The alliante is now on the litespeed and I have over 2000 miles on it with no problems. Just my 2 cents worth.
