Permanent Footstraps?

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some footstraps that people can't just steal off my bike in 2 seconds. Can't seem to find them anywhere... Any help would be amazing! Was thinking about doing it myself but don't want to risk ruining new ones if there's some out there. Thanks ahead of time!!!

They are called clipless pedals. They work great and have been doing so for 20+ years now.

Not a huge fan of those. Or the shoes for that matter. Looking for the velcro footstraps. But ones that are pretty much permanent.

Well, you could always sew the footstraps to make them permanent.

Or, you could do spd pedals and shoes like these that look like everyday shoes and not cycling shoes:

You have two options I can think of immediately with toe straps, the kind with the buckle and not velcro. For velcro you may be able to adapt one of the two ideas.

1. Twist the strap when putting it through the pedal. Racers did this to prevent the strap from creeping around the foot. Side effect is that it's tougher to steal. As a bonus some pedals came with a pre-threaded hole so you could put a screw into the strap to hold it in place.

2. Toe strap button. This was a little thing you screwed into the tip of the toe strap to give you some traction if the strap or your fingers were damp. A side effect was that you had to remove the button to remove the strap.

Hope this helps

Nothing is permanent, man. You can never step into the same toe clip twice, because the clip is always changing, and so are you.

I've used these for years on my commuter. They're secure, you can ride in any shoes and they're not worth stealing.
But seriously, people steal toe straps where you live?

That was my reaction.

The additional advantage of Powergrips: set up properly, they mimic the release action of clipless, should the rider decide to get real.

+100. With SPDs you will barely notice you have bike shoes except for the occasional clicking while walking. Though I prefer Lake SPDs. Lake makes shoes in a wide width.
