I'm not sure how to describe it but every half rotation my bottom bracket seems to creak, its become incredibly annoying and is making the bike feel as though peddling is a lot more effort than it should be, i have an audio clip to explain more, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

It's really hard to tell without a visual, but to my non-mechanic ears, that doesn't sound like a "creak". It sounds more like metal to metal contact at the same part of your pedal cycle.

How old is the bike? Still under warranty if it doesn't have a lifetime warranty (assuming that you're the original purchase)? What kind of BB? Regardless, take it to your shop and let a mechanic troubleshoot it.

I ordered off of the web a few months ago, and im not sure, its a mafia bikes blackjack and it should still be under warranty yes. taking it to a mechanic should have been my first idea i suppose, thanks.

IMPORTANT - 1 week service
As your bike will have been sent to you via mail order, it is your responsibility to ensure it has been assembled correctly. We allow you to assemble by yourself; however you MUST get a 1 week service by a qualified bicycle shop technician in order to qualify for your warranty. This is to ensure you have assembled your bicycle correctly & that everything is adjusted correctly. E.g. spokes will need tightening, maybe your chain is too loose, brakes not set correctly, tyre pressure incorrect etc.
If you do not have your 1 week service record (signed & stamped receipt), then your warranty is invalid.

Hopefully you read that part of your owners' manual and had it done.

Did you check out the pictures of his bike? Do BMX riders ever actually sit on that saddle, at that angle?

I was mostly riffing on the mafia reference, but I do see people riding BMXes (and MTBs) around my area with saddles as far down as they will go -- seated! -- and I can't imagine what that would be like. Even having my saddle 1/2" too low or high brings out a twinge in one of my knees.

We had a mystery sound in the bottom bracket of one newer bike, turned out it was assembled at the factory with a plastic wrapper left on the crank spindle and sealed in the bottom bracket and was wadded & jammed. Ten minutes fix, lube and reassemble. The other thing to check is whether the chain is too tight, there should be just a little slack all the way around the rotation - not just half way around. Usually the sound comes from the rear cog on a tight chain, but I suppose it could present at the crank just as easily.

My first guess would be to check the bolts that hold the chainring onto the crankset.

Bicycling Magazine has some suggestions on what to do for bottom bracket squeak.

It's not only low, it's tilted up at the same angle that an airliner takes off at. That's how the seat tube is set up

I guess BMX riders stand most, if not all, of the time.
