Choosing the right primer for aluminum frame

Hi. What type of primer or maybe base color is good when using an airbrush?

Thanks.

How large of an area?

If it is small, a general primer for metal should suffice.

Larger area should be scotch brited and treated with an etch primer such as zincrom, which would be from a spray can not air-brushable. Be sure to get the metal good and shiny first to insure that the corrosion layer inherrent to the aluminum has been removed prior to application. Then coat with whatever mode you feel like.

a 2 part epoxy primer would be sweet. Take a look at the www.eastwood.com site I have used there products before and the prices are decent.
I dont think a metal etching primer on aluminum is a good idea. (total opinion) unless it is new.
