Which bike trainer?

I'm looking to buy a trainer to use this coming winter and can't decide which one to get...the Cycleops Fluid 2 or the Kinetic Road Machine.

I'm a casual rider that'll do 25 miles or so every day (weather permitting). I'm not into competition or out to set personal bests...I just go ride.

I'm not looking to work my ass off on the trainer, simply to stay on my bike over the winter months and pedal for a while to keep fit.

So my question: Should I go ahead and spend the extra bucks for the Kinetic Road Machine, or should I just go with the Cycleops?

Thanks...I appreciate your input.

They're both $300, which seems crazy expensive to me. I've got bikes that cost less than that.

I just bought a Cycleops Fluid2 off of Craigslist and have been very happy with it. I bought it from a lady who told me she had only used it 2 times. I think that was an understatement, but it is still in awesome shape. I got the trainer, 2 DVDs, the climbing block and instruction booklet for $200 cash. I moved up from a cheap magnetic trainer to the Fluid2 feels like a dream come true. I have no experience on the Road Machine, but I hear they are nice as well. I would look on CL or Ebay for a steal.

With that being said I would also sign up for trainer road. It makes riding a trainer bearable. I am highly impressed with the virtual power for $10 per month.

I have a KK and like it a lot. And I have about five friends that use the cycleops fluid trainer and they like it too. You probably can't go wrong with either.

They are both nice. I have a fluid 2 but will be purchasing a KK when my wife wants to ride the trainer.

More importantly is to find a way to enjoy it.
Use a plan and something like training dvds (cts, spinervals), sufferfest, trainerroad.com, etc.
