yes I visited the Bicycyle museum of America 4 times when it was in Chicago at North pier. It is now located in New Bremen Ohio. I found it very interesting when I visited in Chicago and wish I could get a recording of Riding my bicycle. It was not super big though, like the museum of Science and Industry from which they aquired thier original display material. The Bike museums book, classic American bicycles covers most of thier collection.

The Design Museum (or something like that) in London had a great bike exhibit way back in 1998. It was a history of bicycles and bicycle posters. I don't think it was permanent, though.

I highly recommend it if you have the means. Enjoy |
I've been to the Pedaling History Bicycle Museum, in New York. At least when I was there, maybe 5 years ago?, it was a small, crowded set-up, more like an enthusiast's "home-made" display of his collection. The photos on the web site give you a pretty good idea of what the displays are like. But lots of interesting bikes, both very old and moderately so (say, into the 1960's). Worth a stop if, say, you're on your way to/through Buffalo from Chicago, Giorgios.

There is a nice bicycling museum in Red Oak, Michigan. They host a great century in the Fall, the Apple Cider Century. The Apple Cider is one of the best family cycling events I have ever seen.
