Is there a trailer-system available that allows you to attach a trailer to a trailer? For example you have a bike, and a kids trailer attacher to it. Then behind the kid's trailer is attached a cargo trailer. Can that be done... anyone seen something like that before?

That just doesn't sound like a good idea. That's alot of length to keep track of;you'd have fun maneuvering through heavy city traffic. You'd def have to have a flag on the rear trailer. Braking on a steep downhill would also be fun.
I'd suggest a cargo bike with trailer would be a better option.

Longest arrangement I know of was a tandem bike pulling a tandem 'trail-a-bike' which was towing a trailer. Seemed to work fine.

I have seen more than a few double trailer rigs around. The last one I saw was a guy in Iowa City that was pulling one for his stuff and another to put cans and bottles in for recyling/cash in. Not sure how he had them rigged. I suspect that if you get a clamp on style mount you can put it any round tube.

Like Burly's Trail-a-bike and an axle end type of trailer hitch , has possibilities.
more is possible if you make things , than expect to just Buy them..
