Older Tubular Rim - scrap or sell/give away

I have 2 sew-up rims - labels are ARC-EN-CIEL and also in an oval - , Super Competition Champion. I can't find the size, but I guess 700C, Presta valves, width - look pretty wide for a racing rim.

Shimano 600 hubs - vintage unknown - but more than 10 years old for sure.

Are these worth trying to sell, or give away, or should I cut out the hubs and re-cycle the rims? Or scrap complete?

Sounds like a great set of vintage wheels. Arc-en-Ciel's were top notch racing rims. 330grams I think. Are they round? Flat spotted? If in good shape you could probably get $100 for the wheels.

CX racers are always looking for good tubulars. If they're 130mm, you could probably find a good home for them.

Ask on the C&V Forum. There'll be a few takers.

OK - thanks for the replies. I'll clean the cellar dirt off them and take a few pics and post them on the Classic or place with Cyclocross hang out.

got a bunch of them people racing CX on Tubulars can buildup their own wheels , with the latest Hubs,

IF, you progressively De tension the spokes 1 by 1 in rotation, Un Build, rather than cut them out.

as the rim will remain round and relatively flat. .. oh and First remove freewheels
from the assembled wheel so you still have some Leverage,.

you cant do that to hubs once the rim is removed . (you throw Both in the trash if you dont)

Thanks fietsbob! Good info. Freewheel has already been removed. I actually have a friend who races cyclocross, I'll see if he is interested in the wheels first.
