I want to build a bike from a cyclocross frame with a 50/34 double and a 11-34 ten speed cassette. The challenge seems to be doing it with a flatbar shifter which will accommodate that combination. Want to use cantilever and don't want the shifter integrated unless I can't avoid it. Is there a guide showing what kind of combinations are possible, or are there any obvious suggestions/
(also would be interested in a webpage with frames.)
thanks
dan

I think that a more appropriate thread title might be needed.
If you have a 10 speed 'Road' rear derailleur or a 9 speed 'Mountain' rear derailleur the following will work.
SL-R780: https://productinfo.shimano.com/spec-...g/ROAD/SL-R780
SL-4600: https://productinfo.shimano.com/spec-...g/ROAD/SL-4600
SL-R460: https://productinfo.shimano.com/spec-...g/ROAD/SL-R460
* Those rear shifters won't work with a 10 speed 'Mountain' rear derailleur.
If you have a 10 speed 'Mountain' rear derailleur then any of the 10 speed 'Mountain' shifters will work.

I want to build a bike from a cyclocross frame with a 50/34 double and a 11-34 ten speed cassette.
so go for it , the word Fitness bike gets used if the tires are thinner and the crankset geared roadie higher ..
unless you are paying top dollar for a competition Cyclocross racing frame and fork .
anything less and all you will need to do is ask the dealer to do is change the cassette
and maybe the RD.

actually, looking at a ridley xbow [https://www.competitivecyclist.com/ri...-001b2166becc]
what i want isnt really a cyclocross granted but i do want the frame/wheeltire arrangement mainly for clearance but with a bit higher gears to get to the lake by paved road and then across the field...
my questions for the moment are whether anyone has any experience wiht the sram double tap flatbar shifter, good bad or whatever?
and second the frame says it needs a top pull front derailleur, but the sram literature is not specific, and i basically dont know what that means. is a rival fd compatable with that frame? i notice a pully mounted near the bottom of the seat post and wonder if that may be an adaptation for a bottom pull with the cable coming from above, but it is a bit fuzzy.
appreciate any suggestions
