Rough end of the pineapple
Having my lunch and just lying in the park near the Visitor's Centre. Saw this bloke pull up in a lime coloured Spandex, shaved legs and all the gear. Started to have a quiet chuckle to myself when I noticed he had saddle bags and a trailer. Then his sheila pulls up next to him. She's on a comfort bike with a seat that would make the grade in the first class cabin of a Qantas jet.
I guess he really does tow the line in that family.

You gotta understand Haagen, that this cycling thing goes way beyond what you and I are in it for. There's a whole political undercurrent associated with cycling. Just read the thread "Progressive Bike Companies?" in this forum to see what I'm talking about. Or better yet go to the Advocacy/Safety forum and read the "Just Say "No!" to the Chicago Car Show" thread. Balderdash!
This schtick is a real religion for some folk. It gets like real kooky man!
Ya just gotta feel some pitty for them.

Hey, HD--Look around these boards a bit and you'll find:
* Lance Armstrong is the devil.
* If you use the wrong chain lube, you're the devil.
* Bike lanes are the work of the devil.
* Brooks bicycle seats are ass hatchets.
* Brooks bicycle seats are works of art worthy of Michelangelo.
* My good man, they are not seats. They are saddles.
It just goes on and on and on. But I agree it is amusing.

Well I'm back. That "Say no" thread is interesting. Not hard to draw parallels between it and and any self interest argument.. even gun control, political or global warming debates.
Just glad I'm biking again.
I do belive that Blackberry is the devil.

You wound me, Haagen Das. It's almost as painful as when my wife and I took out life insurance policies on one another and she said, "Well, now it's pretty much of a waiting game."

Most cyclists still like cars, still eat meat and still like to have a good jousting session with the missus from time to time.
