Lucky I Didn't Die Today

Road about 6 miles on city streets today, in the dark, wondering why my toes kept nicking the front tire on slow corners. Is that new tire really that much bigger?

Then I figured it out. The front wheel wasn't in the slot it was supposed to be in. The quick release was barely keeping it attached to the braze-on. And here I am bouncing through potholes and stuff. Yikes!

If I'm understanding this correctly, then "lawyer lips" saved you?

Indeed. Got a quarter mile this morning on a flat front tire. Mental note: get new tube.

Had someone do this to me as a joke. Broke my thumb and caused lots of road rash. Caused him a bloody nose.

Now I check certain things to make sure the bike is safe before I ride. You may want to start doing the same thing.
