Bottle cage for stainless steel bottles
Can anyone recommend a good bottle cage for my 27 oz Klean Kanteen? Apparently the one from KK itself is poor quality. I bought a metal one but it keeps scratching my bottle. Thanks.

I don't use stainless bottles, but I do use King Cage stainless bottle cages... I would recommend them for any type of bottle.

Just live with the Nylon ones.. Kleen Kanteen, as you note, has their own*
this 1st hand analysis over a long time of use or just reading other people's online criticisms..??

plastic squeeze bottles are able to use anything
(and in races they just throw them to the roadside for the fans to bring home. )
So, scratching is an Aesthetic problem .. get over it . or cover the bottle in duct-tape ..

I've been using the King Cage Iris for a year now, really strong, well made, holds my stainless water bottle securely, and looks cool. I also like the Arundel, but haven't used one of those.

I'd try the Zefal fiberglass cage.
They don't chafe or chatter on my aluminum fuel bottles for my touring stove, expect they'd be good for stainless, too.

I just let my canteens get scratched a little...it adds character!
One thing you could try is putting tape over the bottle cage, much like taping up a bike's handlebars. It would be tedious, but it could help to protect your bottles a little better.

I have an adjustable size bottle holder (Schwinn via Wal-Mart) and put my stainless steel bottles in a neoprene 'can sleeve' that get given away like free candy with promo logos on them.

I use the ( Salsa Anything Gage ) and don't really care if my bottle is scratched or not on the outside.

I use these for my 1 liter stainless steel bottles. I have one on the front tube and one on the right fork of my Fargo:

Couldn't you just wrap electrical tape around the bottle where it contacts the cage. It should stop any scratching if that is the main concern
