I'm running 700x32 at 85 psi max, so would the road or mountain bike version be the one to get for me?

OP....I know it's not a frame pump, but have you considered CO2 inflators?
I have one that just screws onto the CO2 cartridge, then you perss it onto the valve stem (will work with presta or schraeder), a quick twist of the valve and the tire is inflated to riding pressure (about 90 psi I think for a 700x25c tire) in about 2 seconds.

I rode for years carrying only CO2 with no back up and it never let me down. Here, however, are my concerns:

1. You have to be REAL careful when you install your new inner tube. CO2 inflates your tire so fast that you won't get a second chance if your tube is pinched somewhere under your tire bead.
2. All tires don't need the same amount of CO2. I stopped using it when I switched to larger volume tires. A 16 gram cartridge barely got me home when I punctured a 20 X 1.5 front tire on our recumbent tandem. If we had punctured our 26 X 1.5 rear tire, it would have been too soft to ride.

Now I pack road morphs.

Ah yes, I learned about tube pinch and CO2. I actually didn't catch it until I was back on the road again. Managed to deflate it and saved the tube (pumped it up with the pump at work).
