The princess and the pea syndrome

The more I ride the more I notice tiny differences. The seat is 2mm too high, the tires are 3psi out of spec, the pedal bearings are slughtly worn, the bar angle is 0.5 of a.degree wrong...

you notice these things?
good.
Do they stop you from riding?

Nope. I'll ride a clowns bike, but its odd how they get more annoying as I build the 'perfect bike'. The rest all feel.... wrong.. :p

So fix it? Or ride on. Most of my bikes are old enough that if it works I am happy, if it works for the entire ride it is a great success! FWIW my two most ridden bikes are old Raleigh 3 speeds, seldom have issues with the drive train or brakes, usually it will be a loose fender bolt or such. Last overhaul I used loctite on most of the bolts so that issue is under control.

Krobin, I have also begun to develop this...probably a good thing.

Aaron, I'm rather jealous of your 3-speed exposure!

I remember reading a Broomhilda comic strip years ago, where she said she was just like the Princess and the Pea, whereupon on of the other characters pointed out that she had a boat anchor under her mattress and hadn't noticed, and that's more the way I am.
