Possible purchase, need your help in assessing asking price

Hello. Newbie here. I'll try to behave.

So, a rider in my area is selling his old GURU GENEO roadbike. He has a new Ridley so does not need this older frame/component set. GURU is a custom only carbon bike maker and has a good reputation.
Here is what he is offering.
- frame
- full dura ace component set. On a scale of 1-10 it's a 8.5. Some scratches but by all accounts is in good shape.
- handbars
- seat post

Price = $1800.
Couple thoughts.
1 - I have not negotiated at all . So, price may dip some.
2 - road the bike Saturday (65 miles) and Sunday (25 miles) and the bike fits. The seller and I are the same height so the setup was close to being dialed in. Bike seems comfortable enough.
3 - I'm currently riding a Madone 4.7. Comfortable bike and I have enjoyed it but the performance of the GURU is obvious. Of course, this is the difference between a race setup and frame vs Madone 4.7. I get that.
4 - I don't know exactly how old the GURU frame is BUT is has Dura Ace 7900 on it so it cannot be that old. I have a call and email into GURU based on the frame number.
5 - I'm not a "racer" but do plan to doing 2-3 crits a year. Plus, everyone likes being faster. The frame is a big improvement over my 4.7
6 - For the sake of this forum lets say it's a 5 yr old frame.
7 - both he and I are 6'5" so that limits who might want this frame on open market . CL or ebay etc.

My question is this. What is a reasonable price in your opinion for what is being offered? Is $1800 fair? If you back out the dura ace group set I'm basically paying roughly $1000 for a GURU frame. The handlebars are terrible and will need to be replaced. I like the bike and the ride but I need some insight from you all on what you think the frame is actually worth.

Thanks !

Honestly, for that level of bike, you would probably find more valuable opinions in the road forum, or possibly the racing forum.

To me, a relatively new high end bike for $1800 seems reasonable, but I would think that you know more about the bike than I do, especially since I have never ridden carbon.

The fact that you have had a decent length test ride and like it would make it a bit easier to pay the price.

As far as the impact that the size has on price, it seems like it could go either way... True, there would be less buyers in your size range, so a small market, but there are also relatively few bikes that size that are available, so there could be a limited supply.

My gut feel is you want to buy, but unfortunately I can't give you enough info to ease that decision.
