Is your bicycle older than you are, or are you older than your bicycle?

My bicycle is older than me by about four years. I have a 1987 Hard Rock Specialized, and I was born in 1991. I'm curious to see who else is younger than their bicycle.

I think I'm older than all my bicycles.

The 3 I have with me right now were "born" in 2003, 2010, and 2012.

I think the oldest one I have in my collection was "born" in 1985 ... the same year I graduated from high school.

I'm older than my bicycles, but only because I started sooner.

I can't answer without an option for "both". My 1973 Peugeot UO-8 is older than me. My other bikes are younger than me.

My oldest bike is only a spry 50 - so I'm definitely older than any of my bikes.

I am 57 (born in 57) and my oldest frame is Frejus from 1960. Almost! Most of my bikes are 70s and 80s with 90s and 00 components.

I was born in '65... I have quite a number of bicycles that are older than me with the oldest being a 1951 although I used to own a '38.

Also have a '51, '54, and '55 Raleigh and a '57 Peugeot with my Moulton being closest in age as it is a '66 that was probably built in '65.

All of my bikes except one are younger than me. I do have a Schwinn Corvette that has a frame that was built in 1955, so it is slightly older than I am. and a 1961 Schwinn Jaguar that is almost as old as I am... Neither of those is ridable at the moment, but assembling them is on my to do list... I have a couple that date back to my high school years, some from the 80's and a few more modern bikes, with my newest being a 2011.

I have a late 80s Specialized Hard Rock, but I'm a bit older than it is. Age-wise, its the middle of the pack. My oldest bike was made about a year after I graduated from High School.

My long distance fixie is seven years older than me, and my touring bike is nine years older than me. My road bike is 23 years younger than me, and my commuter is, umm, 25ish years younger than me. The mountain bike is older than the road bike. I think. The commuter was new in 2007 (I think) so now you know how old I am.

But that's only the frames. The road bike is the only one in any kind of stock configuration. The others mostly have parts that are less than ten years old.

Not counting that one old mixte frame downstairs that I may never get around to building up, I'm older than they are. I've only got six months on my primary bike though.

Perhaps a more interesting trivia question would be: Who on BF is regularly riding the same bike that they rode when they first reached puberty or high school age?

Would be nice... but they have all been stolen and replaced and in some cases replaced again.

In answer to the original question... I have one that is older than I am, the rest are all younger... happens when you get to be older than dirt!

My oldest bikes are ones I made, so pretty sure they have to be younger than me.
