Daydreaming about bicycles while sitting on a couch

When you daydream about bicycles, what do you think about? Could be tradeoffs relating to the cost of a potential new bike purchase; theft dilemmas; "If only" thoughts, etc. Feel free to be as specific or as general as you feel like.

I think about...
- Ideal bicycle builds that I can't afford
- All the upgrades and work I want to do on my current bikes
- Past rides in various places and how fun they were
- Future rides I want to do and how fun they will be!

A scenic ride where there are no cars bothering you for taking the line

I've thought deeply about different things at different times.

Lately, I've thought about Sheldon Brown and his insightful stories and humor. Miss that dude.

1. Getting my weekly mileage up from 110 miles a week to 130-160 with a ride longer than 30 miles.

2. Getting my FTP back up to 235W from my current 184W.

3. Gaining back enough fitness to ride 2x20 min intervals twice a week.

4. Getting closer to the 145 pounds I weighed as a young cyclist. I pretty much levitated up mountains.

Good place to daydream:

Trains of thought which have recently passed through, images flickering by:

Because this thread got me thinking about "proper" and improper bikes, then bikes-as-art, and finally, bikes as expensive art.

Because the Tour is coming to town soon. To make it more interesting I think they should have to ride Boris Bikes (city cycle hire scheme).

Because reading a post about said scheme got me wondering about a bike library.

Because it takes all kinds.

Because it's nice that bikes can be the stuff of daydreams. Pic taken at the Bicycle Museum of America, not far from Neil Armstrong's hometown, appropriately enough.

Oh, and occasionally, Sheldon.
