Best times of year for local shop deals on bicycles?
When are generally the best times of year for local shop deals? I'd guess when shops need to clear out last year's bikes before new inventory comes in.

end of season .. and dead of winter... after new years

Best be asking Manager-owner of the shop in question , not the "cloud" in theory ,, Good luck ..

Both the "cloud" and the shop manager have wisdom to offer...and shop managers tend to want to focus on clearing inventory on hand right now, not later.

I was in a Specialized dealership on Saturday, and they were already talking about the 2015 models. They apologized for not having much 2014 inventory left. If that's true, I would think that now would be a good time to buy Specialized.
I refer to them as a "dealership" because that's how they treated me--like some idiot buying a car for the first time. Just like with cars, I knew more about the product than my salesperson, and all I did was spend an hour on the website. |
It's always a balancing act. YOu have the best selection in May, better prices in September, and best prices in January -- but also the worst selection then.
Waiting until winter might work OK if you're interested in a well-stocked model, but make sure the dealer doesn't pressure you into a bike that doesn't fit. When it comes to bike fit, "close enough" isn't. |
