Kids Have It Right

I was looking out the window, and a big pack of kids rode by. Talking and joking, and having a good time. All types of bikes! BMX to racers........

Basic transportation, and FUN!

I always get a kick out kids just riding around having fun without an organized family ride - not that I have anything to do with organized family rides. But you really know the kids are just having fun for themselves when you see that. It seems to me that most of the self-motivated kids just messing around on bikes are helmetless which also makes me happy in a way - they and their parents aren't unrealistically afraid of a safe and healthy sport.

I never stopped riding since I was a kid & am occasionally accused of "riding like a child."

When I see guys looking miserable on their $3000 bikes, all slathered in lycra and racer gear taking things waaaaay too seriously, I think, "Yeah... I'm good with riding like a child."

My town passed a law controlling moped use, requiring insurance, minimum age etc. Now I see more kids riding than I have in years.
