I dont have too much luck with glueless patches. So i use regular ones. I am 45 years in the tire business. My expertise is in tire repair. The chemical cement used for patches is not really glue, it interacts with the rubber on the back of a patch to form a seal. It activates the rubber in the patch.
Putting it on glueless patches shouldnt work. Sorry so long in reply. I quit getting emails on this thread & forgot about it. I can totally buy what you're saying howeeee. I splurge on plenty of more expensive crap than a $3 patch kit so I can certainly just splurge on these & keep extras laying around. And I wanted to mention what you said for Lone's sake. I read a few threads mentioning that it's not JUST rubber cement......it's a vulcanizing fluid and the chemical reaction between patch & tube is key! Thanks for all the feedback, gang! :thumb: |
Im sure its just rubber cement. Ive had the same results with rubber cement.

Here's a good one (read posts #14 and #21 , specifically)...... http://www.bikeforums.net/bicycle-me...-out-them.html |
It's still a type of rubber cement. Even the 8oz tube I had of the vulcanizing kind said rubber cement on it somewhere.
