Riding in Richardson, TX?

Hi there,
Heading down to Richardson next week for work and am thinking about renting a road bike while I'm down there. Anyone know of any good bike paths around there?

Thx

The White Rock Trail around White Rock Lake in Dallas is the best known in the area. It's about 9 miles around the lake. If you start at a park near I635 and Hilcrest you can ride thw White Rock Creek Trail south to the White Rock Lake trail. Round trip from the park is 27 miles.

Just a quick list. Have fun; I hear Dallas metro has some pretty decent bike paths. :)

While you're there, check out the Richardson Bike Mart (they're at Coit and Campbell). It's one of the top bike shops in the country, with more merchandise than you can imagine (including CycliStats on CD-ROM :D).

They were mentioned in Lance's book, because they were one of his first sponsors. So, when you step inside the store, look back towards the front door, and up. Above the entrance you'll see a pretty amazing shrine to Lance with signed yellow jerseys, bikes, etc.

My credit card starts twitching whenever I get near the front door, so be careful.

Great advice Supcom! There's even a loop just out of the White Rock Lake park that adds 1/4 mile and has a good hill. On the lower side of the park as you circle around the dam, look across the street and see if Jack Johnson cycle shop is still open. Good place to stop and browse after two or three laps of the lake, and before you head back to Richardson. I used to spend late afternoons riding there while in town on business. Always met several fellow riders at the lake and had companionship for each loop. After the ride, the Richardson Bike Mart is always worth a visit.
