Cycling socks
HOW OFTEN DO YOU WASH THEM ? DO YOU WASH THEM AFTER EVERY RIDE OR DO YOU ACCUMALATE RIDES ? PERSONNALY I WASH THEM AFTER 3-4 RIDES, ONLY THING I LEAVE THEM OUT ON THE PORCH, I've NOTICED THAT THEY LAST LONGER AS OPPOSED TO WASHING THEM AFTER EVERY RIDE ,,,,WHAT DO YOU THINK??,,, JUST FOR GENERAL DISCUSSION

I wash mine after every ride. But I never dry them in the dryer. Heat will lower the life of the elastic.

I route all my rides past laundromats so I can wash them at least twice per ride.

I don't mind going a couple of commutes in a pair before washing. But my commute is very short (4 km). If I'm riding more than about 20 km I'll usually put them in the laundry bin post ride. I just machine wash in cold with other clothing and hang to dry.

In all seriousness, I'm appalled that y'all are wearomng socks more than once. Sounds like a recipe for fungus to me. Mine get washed after I've worn them once. Period.

Definitely after every ride. Mine go through the drier. Usually some vendor has a 3 pair for $10 deal at whatever charity ride I am doing, so if they wear out, I just get new ones. Although, I find that even the cheap ones last quite a long time. I have only one or two pair with elastic worn enough that I don't want to wear them anymore.

Not only do my socks get washed (hand or machine) before I use them again, I stand my shoes up against a fan to blow air into them so they dry quicker and less chance of getting funky. Tip: rubber band them together so they don't tip over. That really pisses me off.

All of my bike clothes & socks go into the washer before I go into the shower. Everything is hung on plastic hangers to dry. I wear Woolie Boolies (wool socks) year 'round. They're very comfortable, wick sweat well, and cushion my feet better than thinner socks.

Almost all my riding socks are wool! I do have some synthetics, but I really like thin wool socks in the summer and thicker wool socks in the winter. They seem more durable and they don't get nearly as stinky as synthetics.

Anything that touches my skin or gets sweaty or road grimy gets washed after each wearing. Sweat is a breeding ground for bacteria that at best makes you smell, and at worst will make you sick. Socks are cheap enough that you can have enough for a week's worth of rides for the price of a Venti frou-frou drink at Charbucks. No one wants to share your toe-funk- trust me. And please don't type in all caps if you want to play nice with the others on this forum, thanks.

I DONT EVEN... Lol, sock's for cycling...I dont...ahaha Lol, I just wear my normal socks...wash after a long ride, if its just to town and back, wear for rest of the day (Unless its hot then I take them off when not wearing shoes... Special socks for cycling...wow, Who would have thought it. Must be light waight carbon fibre weave, save's you 0.5G and incresses your speed 0.01 MPH....

Only time I'll wear them again without washing is if I'm outta clean ones and I find a pair that passes the smell test. Usually, though, every ride.
