riding with stress fracture in ankle?

Any other cyclists experienced a stress fracture of some sort in their foot or ankle?
perhaps the stress fracture was not brought about by cycling, but once it is there, its there...
Did you still ride? any changes to your riding patterns/distance?

thanks for the help

What did your doctor say?

I can't imagine trying to test it. Maybe some light spinning on a trainer? I would worry about having to stop short and jump and causing more damage.

I wouldn't worry too much what your doctor says unless he's well-versed in sports medicine. Any doctor not extremely experienced with athletic patients is going to tell you to stay off it for a very long time.

But yeah, try really light spinning on the trainer first.

6-8 Weeks if you want it to properly heal.

does Dr allow walking? swimming? stair climbing? is it wrapped like 10wheels'

also, while biking you might be put in a situation to put your foot down quickly like at an intersection or if someone cuts you off, etc.

That was a stress fracture, with no bone displacement and no reduction (setting) necessary?

I'd bet a simple stress fracture where the bone isn't completely broken nor displaced would probably heal faster with light, non-impact aerobic activity. Such as riding a trainer.
