That's even better. With a cheap pulley system, a couple of hooks and some rope you can raise it up over your head level. Then you have no space loss at all. They sell things like this but it takes no time to just make one.

no joke! I'd be in high heaven with a 15' foot ceiling...I could put my bike up there and not loose a bit of space...lucky bastard.

Wow, you and I are quite alike. This happens a lot with my girlfriend. She's talking about the renovations in her building or something, and I'm wondering whether I want an 11-23 cassette or a 12-25.

Funny u mentioned about "gaffing" off ur girlfriend for a bike ride bec/it bring's me back to the times i've made excuses to my girl for not going out and spending a sat or sun w/her etc...But i'm smart enough NOT to tell her to go home just so i could ride.... or I should say NOT brave enough! I love riding enough to put thing's off i should be doing though.......it's an addiction!

to avoid these questions

Those wheels cost how much?? What the heck are they made out of???

You don't ride them all do you?? (yes, of course)

I am tired of hearing something along the lines of "You ARE CRAZY, for only having one gear"
Also tired of hearing, "bikes, eh, that is why I have a car"

Another two entries for riding too much
Your number has turned into a cycling help line. Be it my friends or family with maintenance questions, or they gave my number to a coworker looking at getting into the sport.

You get a massage. When you go to pay, the money is turned down, so that you can fix her bike.

When you're driving in your car and you speed up to look at the bikes on top of the car ahead of you. (Did that today!)

During a job interview, you ask the interviewer about the company's facilities for commuting by bike (showers, storage space, etc).

You don't know who won the NBA Championships last year, but you can name the winners of the Tour de France for the last 20+ years.

You make the mistake of telling your girlfriend of a dream you had about bikes, only to be enlightened that she wants you to be dreaming of her.

The local bike shops know you the same way the bartenders at Cheers know Norm.

Even worse - when they know your bikes. By their proper 'names'.

when you buy tons of bike components, then realize you need cash to pay the rent...then realize you can try to live off the styrofoam shipping peanuts the parts come in for at least a few days.....
