I've always wanted to get a tattoo, like on my shoulder or mid upper-back. I was thinking of starting with a bike gear and then something like say a mnt outlined inside. I dunno I always get bogged down at that point. Any ideas?

The Wright Brothers had a very cool logo at their bike shop... it's a star-shaped chainwheel overlaid with a one-piece crank... I can't find a photo of it, but it's the only ink I've consideed seriously... if I could get a clear pic, I'd probably have it by now!

I don't have any artwork pertaining to cycling, and doubt I ever will. Seems like too much to me, but hey, if anyone else is up to it then more power to them.
I do however have a crucifix branded on my right bicep, a celtic knotwork clover on my left forearm, the eye of horus on my left ankle, and small traces of a few tats I got on my upper arm, chest, and hand from when I was...erm... a guest of the state. Though I removed those with brillo pads and vinegar when I was released.

I have a Shimano 105 triple ring set on my right deltoid (shoulder) that is centered perfectly and fits the shape and size of my shoulder. I also have an Axo logo on my wrist with 6" of black flames coming up my arm.

Hey Pedal do you have a picture of it?(the delt tat) That sounds very cool. I see you are from Victoria. Man I love that place. We started our Pacific Coast ride from there and I wished we had scedualed more time. It reminded me of what I had hoped England would be like but wasn't.

No I don't have a pic. All of my tattoos are originals done by the same artist, and he's agreed not to duplicate mine, although some wouldn't be too tough to copy if someone wanted to.

Been thinking of using the logo of the Lance Armstrong foundation on the side of my left calf. My right calf is already taken with a parachuting skull!

Can't get a tattoo in SC yet. Tattooing is legal, but no parlors have been opened as the health dept. has no funding to pay inspectors. You can go to Georgia or NC.

Get a tach tattooed on your arm or something, like the one in a car. I whipped up this one in photoshop.

Phil Wood's grandaughter had a story in Dirt Rag awhile back showing off a fantastic tattoo she had made of one of his beautiful large flange hubs. Now that was body art.

The only tatoo I would consider is one on the inside of my right calf that would duplicate the greasy chainwheel and upper/lower chain imprint that I get there all the time, anyway.

"Fun" wasn't the word I'd describe. But I didn't want/need that crap on my skin anymore and could not afford medical attention for it. The scars are minimal and blend in with the rest of my shredded flesh wounds from childhood.

I'm going to try to resurect this thread because I am thinking about getting a large bicycle chain tatoo around my right bicep/shoulder area, and wondered if anyone had any bike chains tatoo'd on them?
post any bike related toos. I have a lizard on my right calf so I might want to balance that by putting the chain on my left arm instead of the right, I guess

I just had a the attached logo tattooed on my left calve this afternoon. I don't have my digital camera handy, but the tat was done in black, with just the outline of the wheels and figure with no design in the wheels. I'm undecided how I will finish it or if I will just leave it as is.

Just last week at Starbucks I saw a messenger with a tattoo of just a portion of a chainwheel on his inner right calf just as you described. It wasn't grease......it was definitely ink.

I was playing around in photoshop and made this deal. Thought the design would make a nice tattoo and might actually get it someday. Right on the calf.
