Fuji Professional vs. Better Brand Name

I am looking into purchasing my first road bike in 20 years. I am looking at a nice Fuji Professional also a Trek 2005 5000 - the Fuji is more expensive but better equiped. Does anyone know if Fuji's are any good? meaning reliable etc. ? any comments would be helpful.

I just fail to understand why Fuji is so disrespected. They've been building bikes for over 100 years for God's sake. Fuji is fine. They stand behind their product and they put a better product on the road, dollar for dollar, than some of the "better brand names" because their prices haven't been artificially inflated by the success of one bike rider.

No, I do not ride a Fuji, but my daughter does.
